SONALI CHICKEN
Sonali is a crossbred chicken variety suitable for backyard poultry farming and small-scale poultry rearing. Sonali day-old chicks are suitable for farmers looking to raise chickens for meat and egg production.
SIRUVIDAI CHICKEN
Siruvidai Chicken is native to Tamilnadu as reference to the breed has been obtained from stone carvings. Siruvidai is considered to be the breed inscribed in the Spade of Lord Muruga.
GIRIRAJA CHICKEN
Giriraja Chicken is an ancient breed, revived by Indian Scientists. Giriraja hens lay a large number of eggs around 130-150 per year with around 85% hatchability.

There are over a hundred breeds of chicken world-wide. While the pure breeds are less in number, several Governmental and other agencies have developed cross-breeds to enhance the meat content, egg laying capacity or simply taste. In India, there are only four pure Indian breeds of chicken available. They are, Aseel, Chittagong, Busra and Kadaknath. Crossbreeds are produced by 2-way, 3-way or 4-way crossing of inbred pure lines.
